Led by author and therapist Claire Bidwell Smith and her colleagues, Angela Schellenberg, Barri Leiner Grant, and Kelsey Sawyer this unique 3-night, in-person retreat will take place in beautiful Northern California and will provide the opportunity for immense healing and processing of grief.
This grief retreat is for anyone seeking healing and growth following the death of a loved one.
This intimate group of participants will be a diverse group of men and women from all over the U.S. and Canada (and sometimes from overseas) who have lost someone to death at various ages, and from many different causes.
If you feel ready to examine the impact a death has had on your life and if you feel the calling to explore ways to grow and transform as a result of your loss then this retreat is right for you. You will leave the experience feeling less alone, deeply understood, and profoundly transformed.

Grief Camp
Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health
September 14th-17th
Location: Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health
Stockbridge, MA
Join grief experts Gina Moffa, Barri Leiner Grant, and Kelsey Sawyer for a program that provides a comprehensive understanding of how grief manifests in the body, mind, and spirit. This immersive and experiential offering will help you to meet your grief with a sense of agency, new understanding, tenderness, and renewal.
Seldom do we get the time and space to simply be with our grief and tend to this life-changing experience with the presence and care it calls for. With that intention, Grief Camp is a chance to step out of the day to day and into the supportive nature of community. We will explore grief as it relates to loss of life both past and present, as well as non-death related losses associated with our health, relationships, identity, and career, just to name a few.
Grievers will explore both evidence-based education and experiential learning in a supportive and nurturing environment. You will feel less alone on your grief journey and initiate a personalized grief tending practice. The program will introduce practical tools and creative exercises crafted to help move the energy created by grief through the body.

Ripples of Courage Grief Support Group
Virtual
6 Weeks - Thursdays 7-8pm EST
September 25th - October 30th
Virtual on Zoom
Ripples of Courage invites participants to process their grief courageously by acknowledging and expressing their feelings of grief and learning to stay present in their grief experience. My hope is that this will then ripple out into the community, creating a more grief aware and grief accepting culture and allowing individuals/communities to express their grief freely.
This 6 week grief support group will take place each season and include movement, journaling, grief psychoeducation, sharing, and connection.
Group will always begin with the ritual of lighting a candle for our person/people who died. Participants are invited to have a candle, a journal, a cup of tea or hot water with lemon, and anything else that feels cozy/comforting/grounding with them during group meetings.
This group is for anyone who has experienced the death of someone important to them and is looking for more holistic and body based grief support (Ages 18+).

Fall Flowing with Grief® Workshop
In Person
Monday, September 22nd
6-730pm
Location: The Eyrie
206 East Seneca St
Manlius, NY 13104
The Flowing with Grief® practice invites individuals to connect to their bodies and their grief using movement and breath to process and release grief that is held in the body.
This yoga and movement practice is designed to support you as you consciously engage with your grief. Together we move through the process of becoming aware of your grief and how it shows up in the body, expressing and witnessing your grief feelings, connecting with your loved ones who have died, and surrendering to the whole of your grief experience. As opposed to being focused on strength and flexibility, this practice centers the emotional body and the embodied experiences that the body holds. This practice is a blend of my yoga and dance movement therapy training, and includes movement, mindfulness, and breathing techniques, followed by time for journaling and/or reflection.
The intention behind the practice is to attune to our bodies, our grief, and the season we are in, thus connecting us to our hearts, our spirits, and our people who have died.

No previous yoga experience is required to participate in this practice as it can be done in a chair or on a yoga mat.
